Melbourne bands rally to support renewables campaign w/ Old Bar fundraiser

Friends of the Earth’s community campaign, Yes 2 Renewables, have been rocking since 2010. And you’re invited to rock with us too at our Rock 4 Renewables fundraiser at The Old Bar on Sunday 14 August.

Over the years we’ve been a champion of renewable energy, going head-to-head with the anti-wind lobby and making the case for ripping up the Baillieu government’s anti-wind farm laws.

Most recently, Y2R and friends helped secure an ambitious Victorian Renewable Energy Target of 40 percent by 2025. The Andrews government initiative will see $2.5 billion invested in the our state and create 10,000 jobs, all while cutting pollution and tackling climate change.

Despite these achievements, there’s still work to be done…

In recent weeks the fossil fuel sector has mounted an aggressive attack South Australia’s renewable energy leadership. They’re trying to undermine renewable energy’s reputation and destabilise the states who are taking leadership, such as Victoria.

The Y2R team is fired up and ready to launch a new ‪#‎DefendRenewables‬ campaign… And what better way to kick it off than with a party!
