PollieWatch: Has Premier Napthine lost faith in the Health Dept?

1_729wind-620x349In late January, the Abbott government was questioned about its forthcoming investigation into the alleged health impacts of wind farms. The Sydney Morning Herald report on the subject revealed that Victorian Premier Dennis Napthine will chip in $100,000 to fund the investigation.

Yes 2 Renewables’ response to the news–and a question for the Premier–was published in The Seymour Telegraph:

Premier Napthine’s pledge of $100,000 to fund Tony Abbott’s ‘independent’ review of wind energy and health is a waste of taxpayer dollars.

The Premier is committing the funds when the Victorian Department of Health published its own review which found wind energy to be safe in May, 2013–a little over nine months ago.

Has Premier Napthine lost faith in his own health department?

Your response, Premier?

  1. Seems that Denis Napthine has faith in non-science and denial, certainly not in any Victorian-based engineering firms or technology.

  2. It is somewhat ironic that Victoria with Victoria losing its car making sector that they should then discard the opportunities presented by wind farms.

I do recall the time when politicians worked for the people and the common good but you wonder if that time has past.

What a novel idea! Governments working for the people.
