The following information is from the NSW Planning & Infrastructure department’s website. We encourage supporters to attend any of these three meetings if they are in your region.
The Draft NSW Planning Guidelines: Wind Farms have been prepared to ensure effective consultation with local communities and to deliver improved consistency, transparency and rigour in the planning assessment process. Public comments on the draft guidelines are being sought.
Three community information ‘drop-in’ sessions are being held in regional locations during February. Department staff will be available to answer questions and no pre-registration is required:
Monday 13 February 2012 (4pm-7pm), Bathurst Library meeting room, 70-78 Keppel St, Bathurst; Tuesday 14 February 2012 (4pm-7pm), Yass Memorial Hall, Comur St, Yass; and Thursday, 16 February 2012 (3pm-6pm), Glen Innes RSL Club, Cnr Lang & Grey Streets, Glen Innes
You can download the draft windfarm planning guidelines from the Planning & Infrastructure website. Please consider making a submission on the guidelines – even a brief one – to the department. Details for that are also on the web page. Our initial comment on the draft guidelines is here.
