hello all,
with the recent flurry of posts on random issues, the site is getting really messy.
I have previously asked people to stay on topic when posting comments.
In future, general comments/ discussions on renewables needs to happen on this page.
If you go off topic (eg, when a post is about wind and birds and you want to talk about power output from a wind farm), your post will be deleted. It will, however, be posted in the relevant section of the Soapbox.
This will also make it easier for people to follow and engage in debates that interest them, rather than having to follow them around the many posts on the website.
We can easily set up sub categories here. I will start an initial one on wind power. Please feel free to suggest other topics by emailing me directly: cam.walker@foe.org.au
I am thinking I might do a clean up of the site and remove some of the more off track posts (although it will be sad to lose those ones about wind farms causing tornadoes!).
For conversations about WIND ENERGY, please check here.

“I am thinking I might do a clean up of the site and remove some of the more off track posts ”
One way to censor posts you don’t like I guess.

Damn, ‘John’ is on to us! Yes, its the evil greenie conspiracy to silence the Truth.
Posts like the one below point to the reality of what the ‘wind experiment’ is all about, it would be a travesty if i deleted this masterpiece (part of the wonderful ‘wind farms causes tornadoes’ rave). Read & enjoy:
FROM A POST BY Googloony:
“Earlier today I did an initial release of Research Findings regarding the propagation of Wind Farms and the devastating changes in weather patterns that are wreaking havoc on us all. Now I have been given permission to release a second important finding of their amazing research.
I talked in my previous post that it was the combined effect of the vortexes caused by the spinning rotors of the wind generators that was causing the current changes in our weather patterns; another, far more sinister effect of these vortexes is that they are combined with power generation.
With any energy production there is a concomitant electro-magnetic field generated; when this electromagnetic field is combined with a massive vortex you end up with an electrically charged, polarized vortex spinning through your community.
And now for the really nasty part; we all know that our body, brain and nervous system work by a complex system of electrical impulses. Every time we move an amazing system of electrical signals around our brain, from brain to body and back again make that movement happen.
Every time we think some part of our brain becomes electrically active as minute signals fly from synapse to synapse at lightning speed. Imagine the effect of an electromagnetic charge spinning constantly in a single direction on our entire system; electrons always want to follow electrons and so when we are subjected to a massive energy force always going in the same direction our energy flow starts to flow in that single direction too. No longer will we be able to have freedom of thought; like the windmills themselves our thoughts will always be forced to flow in a clockwise direction – we will all start to think the same way!!! What’s that but the ultimate fascist mind control system!!!”

Funny post, you just can’t trust those damn vortexes. Googloony misses an exceedingly important point, it’s not the windfarms or the power generation that’s at fault, it’s those blasted butterflies. Recall the “Butterfly effect”?
I’m pretty sure hurricane Katrina was traced back to a more than amorous butterfly in a remote part of the Amazon basin. If only we had known then that it’s perfectly natural, indeed genetically driven lust for a partner would lead to such terrible tragedy just a few months later. All because of some tiny flapping wings…
As for all those nasty induced currents flowing through our body courtesy of those notorious electromagnetic charges, the writer misses the bright side – there’s always a bright side to everything, with everybody being effectively turned into a magnet, nobody should ever be lost again, much like homing pigeons. This in turn should lead to a drastic downward domains for GPS systems in motor vehicles which will save a huge amount of energy that would have been used in their production.
Instead of cursing windfarms, humanity should be on its knees bowing to them for the benefits they provide us – just don’t forget most dangerous butterflies.

I’m surprised that nobody seems to have blamed earthquakes on wind farms yet. Or have I missed something?

So, windfarms aren’t cause of earthquakes?

I heard they cause bunions too!

My cat has gone off her food.
It happened on the very day that Origin announced they were abandoning the Lexton wind farm.
yet another problem with wind farms.
